Meeker Memorial Hospital Foundation
The Meeker Memorial Hospital Foundation was incorporated in July 2005.
The creation of the Foundation was an integral part of the strategic plan adopted by the Board of Directors.
Increasing health care costs and uncertain reimbursement for programs such as Medicare and Medicaid will create
challenges and new opportunities as we continue to meet the needs of our community.
The Foundation will secure new sources of revenue to maintain, improve and expand health care services for our patients,
their families and the community. As a 501 © (3) charitable corporation, the Foundation will allow donors
to maximize the impact of their donations and ensure funds will be restricted for use at the Hospital.
Currently, the Foundation has launched a "Invest In the Future" Capital Campaign to offset costs in Phase One of the MMH Expansion/Renovation Project. For more information about the campaign, contact Mike Boyle at (320) 693-4584.
Funds will be used in three major areas:
program support
equipment purchases and
facility expansion and improvement.
Quality local healthcare is critical for our families and the community. At one time in our lives most of us, or someone we love, has been cared for at Meeker Memorial. We realize the valuable asset we have with the hospital in our community, and we are committed to making sure that our children, and the many generations to follow, will have that same access to life giving care.

Cardiac Rehab Expansion
Meeker Memorial’s medically supervised Cardiac Rehabilitation program is designed to help individuals with heart disease recover faster and return to fuller and more productive lives.
The program started at Meeker Memorial in November 1987. Throughout the years, the program has had over 900 clients participate in Phase II and III. All Phase III clients have continued the program on their own after their insurance no longer covers the cost.
Cardiac Rehab began with a donated bicycle and a used treadmill in an empty room on the second floor of the hospital. The program has moved multiple times (too many to count) to its current location in the lower level of Affiliated Community Medical Center (ACMC). The move to the second floor of the new hospital is scheduled for the second week in November.
The department is now in a 960 square foot room at ACMC. Because of the various types of equipment needed and the growth of cardiac rehab, the space is cramped and makes it a challenge just to move around the room. The small space also limits the number of clients who can be served and encouraged to adopt a heart-healthy lifestyle.
Meeker Memorial is relocating cardiac rehab to new space on the second floor of the hospital adjacent to the new Rehabilitation (physical, occupational and speech) department. The proposed project will add 1,000 square feet of space to appropriately accommodate cardiac rehabilitation services provided by Meeker Memorial.
The original plan called for Cardiac Rehab space increase to 1500 square feet on the second floor in the old hospital wing. As the project progressed, the decision was made to allocate additional space to cardiac rehab. The total square footage of the new space is double the current space, close to 2,000 square feet. The increased square footage allows for plenty of space around current machines, space for additional machines, a changing room, and a larger rest and recovery area.
The additional square footage created a need to raise extra dollars in support of Cardiac Rehab. Philanthropy serves two purposes. First it offsets increased costs. Secondly, it allows the donor to create a relationship that supports a program he or she believes in.
Invest In the Future Campaign
MMH Foundation is close to the Invest In the Future - Challenge Goal!
We have gone past the original 1.25 million dollar goal and are well on our way to the 1.5 million dollar goal. Call the Foundation Office at: (320) 693-4584 or email Mike Boyle, Executive Director at mboyle@meekermemorial.org to inquire about making a donation to the Invest In the Future Campaign.
